An exhibition of achievements of Turkmen private sector on occasion of the 14th anniversary of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) kicked off on Tuesday at the expocenter of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ashgabat.
The two-day exhibition provides a platform for exploring the achievements of the private sector of the economy of Turkmenistan.
A conference of members of the UIET also takes place on the sidelines of the exhibition.
In a congratulatory letter sent to the participants of the exhibition and the conference of the UIET members, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov said the businesses made a worthy contribution to the strengthening of the economic potential of Turkmenistan thanks to favorable legal, economic, financial and social conditions for the development of small and medium business in the country and support rendered by the state.
"Along with new capacities to produce import-substituting products, members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan build and put into operation high-tech enterprises to produce export-oriented goods. Due to this, the share of domestic industrial and agricultural products, and services of private producers of the country increases in foreign markets," President Berdimuhamedov said in the congratulatory message.
The exhibition gathered around 200 UIET member-businesses, specializing in agriculture, food processing, construction, production of building materials and electrical equipment, trade, tourism, education, IT technologies, services, transport and logistics.
Established in 2008, the UIET is a public organization, which aims to support small and medium-sized businesses in Turkmenistan, to promote the development of the private sector of the national economy and the formation of a modern enterprise infrastructure.
