Delegations Heads of Central Asian States Meet German Chancellor

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, took part in the meeting of the heads of delegations of the Central Asian states with the Head of the Government of Germany Olaf Scholz in Berlin on Friday.

The meeting held in the format of working lunch was also attended by President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, according to the official Turkmen media.

The Chancellor of Germany welcomed the high-ranking guests and noted that the first meeting of such level provides an excellent platform for discussing priority matters of cooperation between the six countries with a long-term perspective and in the interests of both Central Asia and Germany. Olaf Scholz reiterated Germany's commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with Central Asian countries across all areas of collaboration.

The primary objective of the meeting was to outline practical measures aimed at supporting sustainable economic growth and enhancing interstate trade and economic ties among the participating countries. The development of investment activities, considering commonalities as well as the specific requirements of each country, received significant attention.

In his remarks, the National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed a keen interest in executing specific projects with European partners in the export of energy resources, such as oil and gas, as well as chemical and textile products, agriculture, and other goods. He emphasized the willingness to facilitate the import of high-tech products from Germany, attract capital, and gain technological expertise in various fields including industry, science, and professional education. To address these challenges, the meeting acknowledged the importance of utilizing the potential of Central Asia as a transcontinental transport hub and the significance of implementing interregional projects such as TRACECA and the Caspian-Black Sea Corridor.

The third area highlighted was ecological matters and green transformation, recognizing the importance of combating climate change and embracing environmentally friendly technologies on a global scale.

It was emphasized that the implementation of promising joint projects could serve as a driving force for strengthening interaction between Central Asia and Germany. Special attention was given to expanding partnership in areas such as trade, transportation, transit, energy, and communications, which would generate momentum for the development of six-party cooperation and reinforce the foundation of relations between the states.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a joint photo session took place, where the leaders of the participating countries posed alongside the official Summit banner and the respective State Flags of the Central Asia-Germany format.
