The current credit portfolio of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Turkmenistan is estimated at around €27 million, directed towards supporting 21 projects, Trend reported on Monday.
EBRD's investment activities in the country span diverse sectors of the economy, with the majority of investments (approximately 85 percent or €23 million) allocated to the development of industry, commerce, and the agricultural business. The remaining 15 percent (around €4 million) is invested in financial institutions.
EBRD emphasizes that its investment activities are entirely focused on stimulating the development of the private sector in Turkmenistan.
In total, the bank has invested over €334 million in Turkmenistan's economy, covering 87 different projects.
