Daewoo E&C Shows Interest in Turkmenistan Construction

On September 5, 2024, a high-level Turkmen delegation, led by Deryageldi Orazov, Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of Arkadag City, met with Daewoo E&C’s CEO Baek Jung-wan in Seoul, reports News Central Asia, citing Korean media.

The Turkmen delegation included Rahimberdi Jepbarov, Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs, and Begench Durdiyev, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to South Korea.

During the meeting, Daewoo E&C CEO Baek Jung-wan expressed interest in launching two fertilizer production projects in Turkmenistan. He highlighted the company's successful experience in building new cities and high-rise buildings, emphasizing Daewoo E&C's capabilities in delivering high-quality projects in Turkmenistan.

In response, Turkmen delegation leader Deryageldi Orazov positively evaluated Daewoo E&C's proposals and expressed readiness to explore prospects for further cooperation.

Daewoo E&C, a leading South Korean construction and engineering firm, has a rich history of successful global projects. In October 2023, the company opened a branch in Ashgabat to strengthen its presence in Turkmenistan.
