Turkmen Scientists Patent Lactose Skin Rejuvenation Gel
Research process in the laboratory of the Technology Center of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan

The Biotechnology Department of the International Scientific and Technological Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan has secured a patent for a new technology that produces a lactose-based gel designed to combat age-related skin changes. This innovation has been officially confirmed by a certificate issued by the State Intellectual Property Service of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, as reported by the official Turkmen media on Monday.

The new technology, which spans the fields of dermatology and cosmetology, focuses on creating a rejuvenating gel that provides comprehensive effects on the skin. It works by improving the skin’s water and protein balance while promoting biostimulation. The core ingredient used in this development is whey, which contains essential components such as proteins, lactose, vitamins, and minerals.

The whey, which makes up 90% of the milk used in the process, is applied to the skin via ultraphonophoresis, allowing the active ingredients to deeply penetrate the epidermis, nourishing and hydrating skin cells. Due to its unique properties, lactose is also widely utilized in the food, animal feed, and pharmaceutical industries.

Altyn Rakhmanova, the Head of the Biotechnology Department, emphasized that the technology is based on principles of zero-waste production, minimizing environmental impact while maximizing the extraction of beneficial substances from raw materials.
