Celebration of Neutrality Day, December 12, 2020, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree establishing an Organizational State Committee for events dedicated to declaring 2025 as the ‘International Year of Peace and Trust’ and the 30th anniversary of the country's neutrality during a Cabinet meeting on Friday, as reported by the official media of Turkmenistan.

As an active and responsible member of the international community, Turkmenistan consistently implements important initiatives aimed at strengthening peace, stability, and sustainable development. In this context, the U.N. General Assembly's resolution declaring 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust," adopted on March 21, 2024, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, holds particular significance, as noted in the document.

The committee will organize a wide range of international and national events, including forums, conferences, and ceremonial gatherings, in collaboration with foreign countries and international organizations.

The decree approved the committee's composition, which will coordinate the preparation and conduct of all planned events at a high level.

The government meeting also reviewed a number of priority issues related to state affairs.
