Turkmenistan and India plan to deepen cooperation in energy, industry, transportation, and high technologies, said Deputy Prime Minister Nokerguly Atagulyyev at the India Day event on Sunday in Ashgabat, as reported by the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.

Atagulyyev noted that these sectors are strategically important for both countries.

The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasized the participation of Turkmenistan and India in major international projects, such as the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, as well as initiatives connecting Central Asia with other regions, including the Middle East and South Asia.

According to the Vice Prime Minister, bilateral relations are developing not only in the economy but also in areas like education and healthcare.

Indian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat highlighted new opportunities for collaboration in fields such as pharmaceuticals, information technology, and artificial intelligence.

Turkmenistan and India established diplomatic relations on April 20, 1992.
