The Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the United Nations Office in Geneva organized a hybrid-format meeting on Turkmenistan’s chairmanship in the Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) on January 29, 2025, as reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Switzerland.
The leadership of the regional UN commissions coordinating the SPECA Programme, including the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) and the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), attended the event. Accredited Permanent Representatives of the SPECA member states in Geneva, along with heads and representatives of national coordinating authorities, also participated.
The Turkmen side presented the concept of its chairmanship, outlining the key activities planned for the current year.
In the open discussions, the participating parties exchanged views on joint activities for the near future, particularly regarding the implementation of agreements reached during previous chairmanships.
