The production association Lebapsuwhojalyk received 41 units of powerful water lifting equipment from Slovakia and Kazakhstan, as reported by the newspaper Türkmen gündogary, published on Thursday.
The pump units, with varying capacities, can pump between 300 and 2,500 liters of water per second and supply water to 200 hectares of agricultural land. The equipment is distributed among water management departments in the districts of Kerki, Koytendag, Hojambaz, Halach, Sayat, Charjev, Danev, and Darganata, providing freshwater from the Amyderya for irrigation.
The water management department employs 130 specialists, and with the help of a 35-kilometer irrigation canal, it irrigates 35,000 hectares of land. Water naturally spreads across 10–15 kilometers, supplying newly developed areas.
The State Committee for Water Management of Turkmenistan coordinates the work of sectoral structures, develops programs for the rational use and protection of water resources, and carries out land reclamation activities. As part of state policy, the modernization of irrigation infrastructure continues, contributing to increased crop yields and reduced water losses.
