Turkmenistan exceeded its agricultural investment plan by 262.9% in the first quarter of 2025, Deputy Prime Minister for Agroindustrial Complex Tanryguly Atahallyev said Saturday at a cabinet meeting, the official Turkmen media reported.
Agricultural output rose 124.2% compared to the same period last year. Growth rates were reported at 147.7% by the Ministry of Agriculture, 132.5% by the State Committee for Water Management, 140.1% by the state concern Türkmenpagta, and 129.7% by the Türkmengallaönümleri Association.
Seasonal agricultural work continues across regions, including fertilizing and irrigating wheat fields and preparing for cotton planting in line with agro-technical standards. Farmers are also tending to potato and melon crops, while silkworm breeders are being supplied with silkworm eggs.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need to improve both the quantity and quality of agricultural production. He instructed the deputy prime minister to ensure compliance with agro-technical standards during fieldwork, promote efficient water use, implement water-saving technologies, and improve land conditions through enhanced reclamation practices.
The government meeting reviewed the results of the work carried out in the country during the first three months of the current year.
