Swiss engineering company Casale has signed a contract with South Korea’s Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co. to develop process design packages for two new fertilizer plants in Turkmenistan’s eastern city of Turkmenabat, Casale announced Monday on its website.
The project was commissioned by the state-owned Turkmenhimiya concern and marks a step forward in expanding Casale’s footprint in Central Asia’s fertilizer sector. The planned facilities will include a granulated ammonium sulfate (AS) plant and a granulated single superphosphate (SSP) plant.
Once completed, the complex will produce 350,000 metric tons of SSP annually using Casale’s CULTIVA-SPhos technology and 100,000 metric tons of AS using its CULTIVA-PIPEX system. The two fertilizers are commonly used together in agriculture to enhance soil quality and crop yields.
Casale, based in Switzerland, employs more than 400 specialists and has been delivering chemical process technologies and engineering solutions worldwide for over a century. The move strengthens Casale’s international presence and supports sustainable agricultural development in Central Asia.
