The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) has confirmed its readiness to actively participate in the implementation of Turkmenistan’s large-scale national projects. This was revealed during a meeting between Turkmenistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov and JBIC's Managing Director and Vice Chairman Kazuhiko Amakawa on Friday in Ashgabat.
The sides noted the steady development of Turkmen-Japanese partnership, emphasizing that open political dialogue at the highest level contributes to strengthening bilateral relations. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Special attention was given to expanding the legal and contractual framework, including agreements signed during the visit of Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Japan in April of this year.
The meeting participants positively evaluated the successful experience of cooperation between Turkmenistan and JBIC, highlighting the importance of joint projects in the oil and gas, energy, chemical, and other sectors.
The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) is a government financial institution established in 1999. The bank carries out credit, investment, and guarantee operations, complementing the activities of private financial organizations.
