Construction is underway on four new settlements in Turkmenistan’s Lebap region: in the Kerkichi district, housing is being built for 500 families, while in the Halach, Sayat, and Charjev districts, homes are being constructed for 1,000 families each, according to Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper published on Monday.
Upon completion, a total of 3,500 families will receive keys to new homes — a significant step toward achieving the state program’s goal of providing each family with their own housing.
This year, 104.76 million tmt have been allocated for residential projects in the eastern region, with nearly 80 percent of that amount utilized during the first half of the year.
Alongside housing construction, work is ongoing to supply the new settlements with electricity, gas, and clean drinking water. Nearly 12 million tmt have been earmarked for power supply infrastructure this year, ensuring the settlements are fully equipped with essential utilities from the moment they are commissioned.
As part of the National Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the transformation of social and living conditions in villages, settlements, and district centers through 2028, 87 socio-cultural facilities are planned to be built to improve quality of life and promote infrastructure development in the regions.
