EU, Central Asian States Discuss Cooperation on Critical Raw Materials

Ambassadors of Central Asian countries in Belgium met Monday with Audrone Perkauskiene, Deputy Managing Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the European External Action Service, to discuss key areas of cooperation, including transport connectivity, energy, and critical raw materials, according to the Turkmen Embassy in Belgium.

The talks focused on developing interregional cooperation and strengthening bilateral and regional dialogue between the European Union and Central Asian states. Participants discussed prospects for future ministerial rounds and further development of the EU–Central Asia summit format.

Negotiations emphasized the practical implementation of agreements reached. The European side highlighted Central Asia’s strategic importance to the EU and expressed readiness to maintain a sustained focus on the region.

Earlier, the European Union prepared a €12 billion investment package for Central Asian states under the Global Gateway program.
