President of Turkmenistan Appoints New Ambassador to the United States

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov appointed a new permanent representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations (New York, U.S.) during a regular Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Friday, the Watan Habarlary news program reported.

According to the report, Aksoltan Atayeva Toreyevna was relieved of her duties as Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations (New York, U.S.), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Cuba, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Federative Republic of Brazil, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela due to a transfer to another position.

President Berdimuhamedov appointed Vepa Segsengeldiyevich Hajiyev to the post, relieving him of his duties as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Swiss Confederation, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations Office in Geneva, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Vatican.

The meeting also reviewed several other important issues of state affairs, and relevant decisions were adopted.
