Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Belgium, Sapar Palvanov, met in Brussels with Sylwia Kosinska, Diplomatic Adviser to the President of the European Parliament, to discuss current engagement and future contacts between Turkmenistan and the European Union.

The discussions focused on maintaining high-level dialogue and developing cooperation both bilaterally and within the EU–Central Asia framework, the Turkmen Embassy in Belgium reported Friday.

The parties noted that key areas of cooperation between the EU and Central Asia have already been identified, including energy, transport, critical raw materials, and climate. These areas serve mutual interests and provide a solid foundation for moving toward practical project implementation.

The meeting highlighted that combining Turkmenistan’s resource potential with the EU’s technological capabilities creates additional opportunities to deepen cooperation. The growing role of the region as a stable transport corridor between Europe and Asia was also emphasized.

The talks concluded with a reaffirmation of mutual interest in continuing dialogue and expanding practical cooperation in priority areas.
