A ceremonial laying of the foundation took place in the Ýmambaba area of Yoloten District, Mary Province, marking the start of construction for a new residential settlement. According to the project, the settlement will cover an area of 800 hectares, the newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan reported Wednesday.
The settlement will include 4,500 homes: 2,490 single-story five-room houses and 2,010 single-story three-room houses. In addition, the infrastructure will feature a district administration building, a shopping center, a 500-seat cultural center, a 1,000-seat mosque, a bus station, a water treatment plant with a capacity of 15,000 cubic meters, a school, a medical center, and a hospital.
The new settlement is designed to accommodate 22,500 residents, aiming to combine rural living with modern urban standards.
According to the report, the construction of model villages remains a key focus of the president’s socially oriented economic policy.
