Turkmenistan will build a new Kenar pumping station and a seawater desalination plant with a daily capacity of 15,000 cubic meters for the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries in Turkmenbashi.
According to Turkmenistan’s official media, the relevant document was signed Friday by Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during an off-site Cabinet meeting.
Under the document, the state concern Türkmennebit has been authorized to sign a contract with the business entity Nur Mimar using its own funds for the design and construction of the facilities.
The document was adopted to further improve the supply of purified water to oil refining facilities and to continue the construction of modern infrastructure equipped with advanced technologies that meet international standards.
Construction work is scheduled to begin in June 2026, while the pumping station and desalination plant are expected to be fully completed and ready for operation by June 2029.
