The total volume of approved financing for projects in Turkmenistan by the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB) has reached $1.38 billion across 30 operations. This was reported on the official IsDB Group page on the social media platform X following a meeting between Rahimberdi Jepbarov, Chairman of the Board of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan and IsDB Governor for Turkmenistan, and Muhammad Al Jasser, President of the IsDB Group.

The meeting was held in Baku on the sidelines of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group.

The sides discussed prospects for further expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including transport connectivity, trade finance and support for Turkmenistan’s long-term socio-economic development priorities.

The Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group are being held in Baku and bring together representatives of member states, international financial institutions and business communities to discuss sustainable development, investment and regional cooperation.
