Turkmenistan and five participating countries in the CASCA+ international transport corridor have signed an agreement aimed at increasing freight volumes and further developing the route, according to Uzbekistan Railways on Friday.
The document was signed following a six-party meeting of railway administrations from Turkmenistan, Türkiye, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan held on June 8–9.
During the talks, participants reviewed the current performance of the CASCA+ corridor, assessed results for 2025 and the first quarter of 2026 and discussed prospects for further development of the route.
The sides focused on improving transport efficiency, reducing transit times, enhancing logistics services and refining tariff policies for freight transportation along the corridor.
CASCA+ is a joint initiative of the state railway administrations of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan. The route links Central Asia, the South Caucasus and Anatolia, forming a transport bridge between Asia and Europe.
The long-term goal of the project is to strengthen transport connectivity between Southeast Asian countries, primarily China, and Europe through the creation of an efficient multimodal trade and transit route across Eurasia.
