Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation, including transport and logistics, economic ties and other sectors, during one-on-one talks in Tbilisi, Turkmen state media reported on Friday.

The meeting, held at the Georgian Government Administration, took place in what both sides described as an atmosphere of openness, mutual understanding and trust. The leaders reviewed the current state of bilateral relations, outlined priorities for future cooperation and later continued the talks in an expanded format with their official delegations.

During the discussions, Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of maintaining regular political dialogue, including within international organizations and welcomed the outcomes of Kobakhidze's previous official visits to Turkmenistan.

Transport and logistics featured prominently in the talks. Turkmenistan reaffirmed its readiness to help Georgian partners access the markets of Central Asia, the Asia-Pacific region and South Asia, while supporting the development of the Caspian Sea–Black Sea corridor and expanding cooperation under the Lapis Lazuli Corridor and the TRACECA transport network.

During the meeting, the two sides also noted broad opportunities to expand cooperation with Georgia in the fields of energy, telecommunications, communications, tourism, agriculture, the textile industry and construction.

The talks concluded with a signing ceremony for bilateral documents, after which Berdimuhamedov and Kobakhidze addressed the media to summarize the outcomes of the high-level meeting.
