Hajat Jumakova, a 106-year-old resident of Turkmenistan, has shared what she believes are the secrets to a long and healthy life. She says staying active and working outdoors are essential to maintaining good health and living a long life, the MIR 24 television channel reported.

Jumakova has 12 children, 78 grandchildren, 125 great-grandchildren and 55 great-great-grandchildren. After her husband died, she raised her children on her own. She spent much of her life working in agriculture, including in cotton fields, livestock farming and crop production, and continued working even after retirement.

According to her son, Dovlet Jumakov, his mother taught her children the importance of discipline, hard work and respect for elders from an early age. These values have become family traditions. When the family gathers around the table, younger members wait for the eldest person to begin eating.

Despite being more than a century old, Jumakova maintains her daily routine. Watching the news every evening to keep up with events in Turkmenistan and around the world has also become part of her everyday life.
