The COP31 Business and Investment Summit will take place Nov. 12-13 in Antalya, bringing together more than 1,500 participants from over 55 countries. Organizers expect the event to become one of the largest business gatherings in the history of U.N. climate conferences, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), which is coordinating the summit, reported.

About 1,000 international business representatives from 290 organizations are expected to attend. They include representatives of international chambers of commerce and industry, major companies, financial institutions, investment funds, development banks and the technology sector. According to TOBB, 63% of international participants will be CEOs and senior executives.

The summit will be held under the theme “From Ambition to Implementation.” Discussions will focus on industrial decarbonization, green industrialization, the energy transition, climate project financing and strengthening urban resilience to climate change. Participants will also address the development of sustainable food systems and the circular economy, the involvement of small and medium-sized businesses and developing economies in the green transition, and the use of artificial intelligence and new technologies.

The summit will present recommendations from the international business community on climate policy and investment. They are expected to be submitted to the COP31 presidency to help advance international cooperation.

“Companies, banks and investment funds from around the world will gather here to discuss how to turn commitments into projects and projects into investments,” said TOBB President and COP31 Business Forum Chairman Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.

The 31st Conference of the Parties to the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP31) will be held in Türkiye from Nov. 9-20. A Leaders' Summit is scheduled for Nov. 11-12 in Antalya as part of the conference. As previously reported by Turkmenistan's official media, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan invited Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to attend.

Turkmenistan will also present a national pavilion at COP31 highlighting the country's environmental protection efforts, measures to address climate change and international environmental cooperation.
