The first Caspian Economic Forum set for August 12 this year in the Avaza National tourist zone is attracting the attention of international media.
At the first international media forum in February, the participants were mostly from Caspian countries. The second media forum at the end of June was attended by the representatives of news agencies, TV stations, newspapers and magazines of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Afghanistan, Germany, Georgia, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Turkey and Uzbekistan.
Euronews, the most-watched international news channel in Europe, is also closely following preparations for the first Caspian Economic Forum. Kjell Stein, director of international trade for the channel which broadcasts in thirteen languages in more than 150 countries, said in an interview with Turkmenistan newspaper that they have already started broadcasting video materials on the first Caspian Economic Forum. He also said that special group from Euronews will provide live coverage of the forum in August.
The first Caspian Economic Forum is considered an important step in further strengthening regional cooperation in the context of the Convention on Legal Status of Caspian Sea signed by the heads of five Caspian-littoral states at the Caspian Summit on 12th August 2018 in Aktau, the Republic of Kazakhstan. It will provide opportunities for discussion of issues related to the development of trade-economic and transport cooperation, including creation of conditions for large scale projects.
