Turkmen delegation, headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Berdiniyaz Matiyev, met with Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Political Affairs of United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi on Monday, the press service of the Turkmen MFA reports.
During the talks, the parties discussed current issues of political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. The diplomats also noted the positive cooperation of the countries in the framework of international organizations, primarily the United Nations. Thus, the effective role of Turkmenistan in the process of maintaining peace and stability in the region through peaceful initiatives and the “open door” policy was underlined.
Speaking about the trade-economic cooperation, the parties noted the presence of pleasant opportunities for widening the partnership in the sphere of energy, industry, high technologies, agriculture. In this regard, the significance of the first Caspian Economic Forum which is expected to be an efficient platform for the discussion and further strengthening of ties between the state and private sectors of the participating parties was noted.
In the end, the parties expressed confidence in that the regular holding of meetings will ensure further improvement of mutually beneficial cooperation in different spheres between Turkmenistan and the UAE.
