Our target is to deliver the TAPI project with zero physical displacements, CEO and Chairman of Board of TAPI Pipeline Company Limited Muhammetmyrat Amanov said in his speech at the international conference “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2019” that took place on October 22-23 in Ashgabat.
He added that they expect to sign land agreements with the respect of land rights ethics by first quarter of 2020.
The CEO underlined that well known consultancy firm Jacobs has completed the environmental and social impact assessment and that the environmental protection agencies of the countries have issued the environmental permits for the project.
Amanov said they received support from the Wood Group and Bilfinger Tebodin companies to improve the construction and engineering work of the gas pipeline. He added that they are expecting the completion of security assessment protocols of Pakistan and Afghanistan sectors by the fourth quarter of this year.
He also informed that countries will receive the pipes that will be used in the construction of the gas pipeline via the Turkmenbashi International Seaport. “We expect to award logistic service contracts by Q2 2020,” Amanov said.
Amanov added that export credit agencies of Europe, Asia and Russia express ‘strong interest’ in the project.
The 1840-kilometer TAPI gas pipeline will provide the opportunity to annually deliver 33 billion cubic meters of Turkmen natural gas to South Asian countries.
