Turkmen farmers harvested 83 thousand tons of rice, thus successfully fulfilling the annual rice production plan. Farmers of Lebap and Dashoguz velayats harversted 48 thousand and 35 thousand tons of rice, respectively.
The farmers planted rice on 10.2 thousand hectares of land in the Amu Darya Valley that had freed up after wheat harvest this year. The state provided comprehensive support services and increased purchase prices.
The rice farmers of the Charjev etrap successfully gathered 10 thousand tons of rice. The average yield of each hectare of rice wedge was 55 centners.
The farmers in the Dashoguz velayat planted 8.1 thousand hectares of land with rice. Farmers in the Northern region, having completed the annual plan by the middle of this month, harvested such rice varieties as Nukus-2, Müňbaşy and Elenge.
The harvest was grown in Etrap named after Saparmyrat Turkmenbashi.
Entrepreneurs and individual enterprises also entered rice cultivation. Myradym private enterprise leased 2 thousand hectares of land to cultivate rice on the territory of the Kerki etrap.
