ChTPZ delivered to Turkmenistan more than 150 thousand tons of pipes for the construction of the inear part of the TAPI gas pipeline.

Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant (ChTPZ), by order of the Turkmengaz State Concern, delivered to Turkmenistan more than 150 thousand tons of pipes for the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline.

Pipes with a diameter of 1,422 mm with an external anti-corrosion coating made of steel of strength class X70 are intended for the construction of the linear part of the TAPI gas pipeline on the territory of Turkmenistan with a length of 214 kilometers.

The implementation of the project contributed to the successful closing of a complex transaction confirming the obligation to pay for products in the amount of more than $200 million between Sberbank of the Russian Federation, the Islamic development Bank and the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The contract for the supply of pipes between the Turkmengaz State Concern and ChTPZ worth more than $200 million was concluded in April 2019.

The 1,814-kilometer TAPI gas pipeline will carry natural gas produced from Turkmenistan's Galkynysh field (214 km) through Afghanistan (774 km) to Pakistan (826 km) and then to India. The annual capacity of the gas pipeline will be 33 billion cubic meters.

The Russian group of ChTPZ became the winner among 94 participants of the tender of the Turkmengaz State Concern for the supply of pipes for the TAPI gas pipeline under construction.
