Turkmen, Uzbek Diplomats Sum Up 2019 in Tashkent
Yazguly Mammedov has been serving as the Ambassador in Uzbekistan since July 2018.

The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Nematov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan Yazguly Mammedov, Uzbek Foreign Ministry said in a press release on January 10.

At the beginning of the meeting, the diplomats considered the implementation of the agreements reached during regular contacts between the Leaders of the two neighboring states and summed up the Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan relations in 2019.

The parties noted with satisfaction the dynamic nature of bilateral cooperation in political, trade, economic, investment, transport and communications, tourism, cultural, and humanitarian fields and confirmed their interest in further developing cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

The officials also exchanged views on the schedule and agenda for joint events in 2020.

Mammedov has been serving as the Ambassador in Uzbekistan since July 2018.

Turkmenistan became in 2019 one of the top ten foreign trade partners of Uzbekistan. The total trade turnover between the two neighboring countries during the first 11 months of 2019 increased by 90% compared to the same period of 2018 and amounted to $457.8 million.
