Turkmenistan established on Thursday the diplomatic relations with Grenada, a country in the Caribbean region.
Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation Batyr Niyazliev and the Ambassador of Grenada to the Russian Federation Oleg Firer signed the Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations in the building of the Turkmen Embassy in Moscow.
Before the signing ceremony, negotiations were held between the countries. The Ambassadors exchanged views on the prospects for bilateral cooperation, including in the field of education and science, culture, art and sports.
Grenada, a state in the West Indies in the Caribbean Sea, became independent in 1974. The Caribbean nation with population of over 111 thousand covers total area of 344 square kilometers.
