Ashgabat, Tashkent to Expand Bilateral Trade
The meeting participants considered the possibility of increasing the export of products manufactured the countries, including textile, silk, oil and gas, and chemical industry products.

During the video conference meeting between representatives of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Thursday, the officials discussed the priority aspects of Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation, including the trade and economic sectors.

In an exchange of views on the prospects for cooperation, the parties noted the countries’ potential to increase mutual trade, investment, and implement mutually beneficial projects in various sectors of the economy.

The meeting participants emphasized the need to expand bilateral trade and exchanged views on the possibility of increasing the export of products manufactured in Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, including textile, silk, oil and gas, and chemical industry products.

The sides also noted the need to expand partnership in the supply of agricultural machinery and automobiles, and cooperation between the business circles of the two countries.

The parties noted the importance of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Uzbek Commission on Trade-Economic, Scientific-Technical and Cultural Cooperation, spoke in favor of diversification, taking into account the needs and available potential of the neighboring states.

During the conversation between the foreign ministers of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan on Wednesday, the diplomats noted the need to intensify cooperation in transport field and exchanged views on cross-border cooperation, transit and transport links.
