The parties noted that necessary and timely measures were taken in Turkmenistan to prevent the entry of dangerous infectious diseases into the country. The actions in this direction are carried out in accordance with the national legislation and the recommendations of the World Health Organization.

The WHO Representative and Head of Country Office Paulina Karwowska said Turkmenistan demonstrated commitment to the principles of the WHO Global System for Surveillance and Response and expressed confidence in continuing cooperation in the field of public health.

Turkmenistan pays great attention to the reduction of infectious diseases and the implementation of the universal immunization program. In recent years, several new vaccines have been introduced into the national vaccination calendar.

In order to prevent the entry of coronavirus infection to Turkmenistan, control centers of the Emergency Commission to Combat the Spread of Diseases were established.
