A meeting with the Regional Director for Europe of the World Health Organization Dr. Hans Kluge in a video conference format was held at the UN Office in Ashgabat on Friday.
The representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, and the Head of WHO Country Office in Turkmenistan attended the session.
The meeting participants exchanged views on the necessity of adopting and implementing joint actions by all the countries to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
The parties specifically emphasized the timeliness of measures adopted by Turkmenistan on preventing the spread of novel virus into the country.
The sides also underlined that Turkmenistan possesses modern infrastructure and necessary experience for the prevention of infectious and non-infectious diseases, and for the multifaceted development of public healthcare.
