The container train with transit through Kazakhstan for the first time traveled on China-Turkmenistan route, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ), the national railway company of Kazakhstan, announced on its Tuesday press release.
According to the report, the train was sent from the Chinese station Jinan Nan, then through the Kazakh border stations Khorgos, Altynkol and Bolashak proceeded in the direction of the Turkmen station Gypjak.
The container train consists of 44 forty-foot containers with general cargo and the total travel time from departure point to the destination is 8 days.
“The advantages of the new container service for customers of KTZ Express are the optimal time for delivering goods from China to the markets of Turkmenistan,” the KTZ said in a statement. “The new train will open up additional opportunities for trade and economic cooperation and will increase the volume of cargo flows.”
