Turkmenistan Exchanges Experience in Seed Production with International Experts
The parties noted that great importance is attached in Turkmenistan to improving breeding activities in order to increase crop yields.

Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan hosted a video conference meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Intergovernmental Coordination Council on Seed Production of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Doctor of Science, Professor Ivan Kuzmin.

The meeting participants considered issues of further development of cooperation in the agricultural sector.

The parties noted that great importance is attached in Turkmenistan to improving breeding activities, introduction of modern technologies and the latest achievements of agricultural science in order to increase crop yields, intensifying international cooperation, including strengthening contacts with relevant foreign institutions.

The sides said the cooperation with the CIS Intergovernmental Coordination Council on Seed Production opens up great opportunities for innovation in this area. In this regard, the parties discussed cooperation with specialized research institutes of the Russian Federation.

The participants underlined the priority areas of cooperation in cultivation of high-yielding varieties of wheat, potatoes and other crops.
