Ashgabat, Beijing Intend to Expand Economic Cooperation
The diplomats of Turkmenistan and China identified economy, trade, oil and gas, telecommunications, healthcare, science, education and culture as priority vectors of cooperation.

Consultations between the foreign affairs agencies of Turkmenistan and the China were held in a video conference format on Thursday.

According to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry’s statement, the Turkmen delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vepa Hajiyev and the Chinese side was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Yucheng.

The meeting participant discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, including cooperation in the framework of international organizations. The diplomats emphasized the particular importance of intensifying contacts and organizing high-level meetings.

The sides particularly discussed relevant issues of the regional and international agenda regarding the pandemic.

The diplomats identified economy, trade, oil and gas, telecommunications, healthcare, science, education and culture as priority vectors of cooperation.

The parties also agreed to intensify efforts to hold a meeting of Turkmen-Chinese Cooperation Committee in the near future.
