The Ministry of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan intends to launch production of metallurgical silicon using local raw materials.
According to the Turkmen State News Agency (TDH), the ministry is currently working on several projects to develop an industrial sector based on rich deposits of minerals and raw materials.
During the meeting of Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held on Friday by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Deputy Prime Minister Shamuhammet Durdyliyev also reported that the ministry’s Türkmendemirönümleri state-owned enterprise produces different varieties of products, which are used in numerous construction sites of the country.
“Chemical additives are used for the strength and quality of metal products manufactured at the enterprise,” Durdyliyev said.
The Ministry of Industry and Construction Production and the Institute of Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences conducted joint practical tests and obtained positive results for the production of chemical additives from quartz sandstone, iron mixtures and petroleum coke from the Mane deposit located in the foothills of Kopetdag Mountain.
Following the report, President Berdimuhamedov said the active industrial development of local resources and the creation of new industries will not only increase the pace of construction of various facilities in the country, but also establish export of high-quality products.
The Head of State noted that the new products should be tested in a special laboratory of the Türkmenstandartlary Main State Service and fully meet the necessary requirements, and gave specific instructions to the Deputy Prime Minister in this regard.
