Central Asian Countries, South Korea Launch Business Council
The purpose of the meeting was to develop trade and economic cooperation between the Republic of Korea and the countries of Central Asia.

A video conference meeting between the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), the secretariat of the Central Asia – Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum, and the heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Central Asia countries took place on Monday, Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in its statement.

The virtual meeting gathered the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, the co-chairs of the secretariat of the Central Asia-Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum, the KITA management, representatives of diplomatic missions and CCI heads of the Central Asian countries.

The purpose of the meeting was to develop trade and economic cooperation between the Republic of Korea and the countries of Central Asia. In this regard, the meeting participants exchanged views on the initiative of the Korean side to create a Business Council of the Republic of Korea and Central Asian countries.

During the meeting, the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Dowletgeldi Rejepov made his presentation. In their speeches, the heads of the CCIs raised questions of further strengthening multilateral and reliable trade and economic cooperation between the countries, establishing cooperation between the business communities and implementing projects in areas such as arbitration, tourism and industry.

The meeting ended with the online signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding MoU on the establishment of the Business Council of the Republic of Korea - Central Asia.
