The Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Ezizgeldi Annamuhammedov held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Turkmenistan Hugh Stanley Philpott, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
During the meeting on Tuesday, the participants discussed issues on further strengthening and expanding mutually beneficial, bilateral trade-economic cooperation between the two countries. The officials also emphasized the possibilities of developing cooperation in priority areas, including in financing and investments.
The meeting ended with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on Sustainable Economic Development.
Ambassador Hugh Stanley Philpott had held a meeting with the Chairman of the Union of industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan Dovran Hudayberdiyev on June 23.
During the talks, The Ambassador confirmed the interest of the UK in the further development of trade and economic cooperation and close business contacts with Turkmenistan, particularly in expanding productive cooperation between business entities.
