Livestock Complex in Turkmenistan Increases Goat Milk Production
The livestock complex of the Sahabatly Economic Society was opened in 2014.

The modern livestock complex of the Sahabatly Economic Society, located in the Gokdepe etrap of Turkmenistan’s Ahal velayat, contains around 450 goats of the Swiss Saanen breed and about 400 cattle.

According to the Ahal Durmuşy newspaper’s Monday issue, each goat at the livestock complex yield an average of 2 liters of milk a day.

The milking parlor of the complex, equipped with mechanized machinery, is designed for the simultaneous milking of 32 cows, according to the report.

The cows at the livestock complex daily produce 7 tons of milk, which is then processed in the dairy department.

The complex's specialist Mekan Minyasov said the demand for pasteurized goat milk is now very high, adding that “these products, packaged in 1 liter containers, have gained great popularity among the population.”

Minyasov added that the company’s cheeses of Paýtagt and Dilim brands, 400-gram sour cream and suzma, and kefir packaged in 1-liter and 0.5-liter containers are in high demand among customers.

The livestock complex of the Sahabatly Economic Society was opened in 2014. The complex, with an annual capacity of 2 thousand tons of milk and dairy products and 30 tons of meat products, occupies 9 hectares. The company also has an agricultural area of 400 hectares, intended for the cultivation of clover, corn, barley and other fodder crops.
