Central Bank of Turkmenistan urged the country's residents to use more the possibilities of cashless payments in order to protect their health. An announcement with recommendations relevant in the current period of preventive measures was published in the local press on Saturday, Orient news outlet reports.
Cashless payments allow to pay faster, use useful services around the clock, and ensure health safety and safety of funds, according to the announcement.
Turkmen Central Bank urged citizens to use more services of Internet, mobile banking, online shopping platforms and contactless payments.
If, nevertheless, there is a need to withdraw cash from an ATM, the CBT recommends using protective medical masks and observe a social distance of 2 meters in a queue.
“By using the above recommendations, you will protect your own health, and you will also feel the full benefit of the possibilities created for you by the services of the banking system,” the CBT said.
Turkmen banks this year have introduced many useful services that have made cashless payments more profitable.
Particularly, they launched the Overdraft service, which allows to pay for purchases even if the card has run out of funds.
The local banks have also introduced the Cashback system. It automatically returns to the buyer's account a certain percentage of the value of the purchases made with a bank card on a monthly basis.
