Turkmenistan to Launch National Trade Facilitation Portal
Online training will run until October 28.

International Trade Center (ITC), in partnership with the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, conducts online training for the technical team of the National Trade Facilitation Portal. The training seminar, which started on Monday, is organized within the framework of the EU-funded Ready4Trade - Central Asia project.

The ITC told Business Turkmenistan that the seminar consists of five sessions and is aimed at strengthening the technical team responsible for maintaining the online portal. Seminar topics include an introduction to portal functions, an overview of the user interface, data collection methods, and content management.

The online portal will include practical steps required for import, export and transit, access to agreements, laws, regulations, forms and documents, useful information on international trade statistics.

Following the training, the ITC and the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan will develop further steps to implement the National Portal project.

Online training will run until October 28.

Trade facilitation portals developed in partnership between ITC and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in line with international best practices are already being implemented in 23 countries, including Central Asian states, and are recognized as leading edge solutions for facilitating cross-border procedures, according to the ITC.

The International Trade Center is a joint agency of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations that assists small and medium-sized enterprises in developing countries and countries with economies in transition become more competitive in global markets.
