The 32nd Session of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Regional Conference for Europe began its work online on November 2.
The representatives of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UET) are also participating in the video conference, the UIET said in a press release.
The session focuses on sustainable food systems and healthy diets in Europe and Central Asia.
The discussions underlined that smallholder and family farms are an integral part for ensuring long-term food security, social and environmental sustainability in Europe and Central Asia.
Furthermore, the agenda of the session included the Priorities for further work in the Region, which are influenced by the COVID-19 crisis and how it has effected FAO’s priorities. The meeting participants also provided a regional perspective to the new Strategic Framework of FAO, which will be adopted at the FAO Conference in July 2021.
