President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during the Thursday meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers signed an Order on the allocation of land plots for use by enterprises and organizations, private producers and a Resolution on the purchase of chemicals to protect agricultural crops from pests.
According to TDH news agency’s report, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Minister Esenmurat Orazgeldiyev submitted drafts of Order and Resolution for consideration by the Head of State.
In accordance with the Code of Turkmenistan on Land and the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan No. 14668 of March 18, 2016 on the regulation of land relations in Turkmenistan, the Decree prescribed to abolish the right of the relevant legal entities to land use on the basis of contracts for the provision of land plots used by them to enterprises and institutions, members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
According to the Resolution, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection is authorized to conclude contracts with the relevant foreign companies for the purchase of chemicals to combat weeds, pests of wheat for the harvest of 2021, weeds on rice paddies, for the treatment of cotton seeds for the harvest of 2021, and also for locust control.
During the meeting, the Turkmen President Berdimuhamedov underlined the importance of agricultural reforms, the introduction of effective methods of farm management, the provision of comprehensive support for business initiatives in the country and gave specific instructions in this direction to the Deputy Prime Minister Orazgeldiyev.
