Turkmen Businessman Exports His First Tomato Harvest to Russia
This is the businessman’s first greenhouse harvest and the first experience in selling products to foreign markets.

Entrepreneur Halmamet Amanmammedov harvested more than 64 tons of tomatoes in his greenhouse in Balkanabat city and exported 50 tons of it to the Russian Federation.

According to the Turkmenistan’s Golden Age news outlet’s Tuesday report, this is the businessman’s first greenhouse harvest and the first experience in selling products to foreign markets.

In October this year, the businessman put into operation a multifunctional modern greenhouse in the foothills of the Uly Balkan mountain range, in which any agricultural crop can be grown year-round. He has planted highly productive varieties of tomatoes on an area of more than four hectares, which allows him to obtain a rich harvest.

According to the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, another 13 new greenhouses will be built in the velayat.

In addition, Entrepreneur Amanmammedov owns more than three thousand hectares of land in Balkan velayat’s Serdar etrap, where he has been growing cotton and wheat for several years. This year Amanmammedov has harvested a high yield of cotton from 700 hectares of plantations and sowed winter wheat varieties on a thousand-hectare plot.

The Businessman also has several hectares of fruit trees next to the greenhouse in Balkanabat. Recently, he received additional 12 hectares, on which he intends to plant fruit trees and grapes.
