The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbayev in an online meeting on Thursday discussed cooperation of the countries in the field of electric energy and natural gas supplies from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan.
During the meeting, the countries’ top diplomats exchanged views on Kyrgyz-Turkmen cooperation in the political, trade and economic, transport and logistics, energy, cultural and humanitarian spheres and outlined the prospects for further bilateral cooperation, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said in its press release.
The parties noted the importance of further intensification of trade and economic cooperation, the implementation of joint projects in the construction industry and other areas.
During the meeting, the particular focus was given to the organization of bilateral foreign policy events at the highest level.
The officials also emphasized the necessity of the organization of the 5th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation in the near future.
As a result of the meeting, the ministers agreed to maintain constant contact for discussing the matters of Kyrgyz-Turkmen bilateral cooperation.
