The Avaza State Power Plant, located on the coast of the Caspian Sea in Turkmenistan, generated more than 241 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in the first three months of this year.
The produced electricity is 21 million kilowatt-hours more than planned, the country’s official media reported on Friday.
Turkmenistan and the Asian Development Bank signed a contract worth $500 million in 2018 in order to modernize Turkmenistan’s transmission network. The agreement included the financing of the Ahal-Balkan and Balkan-Dashoguz high-voltage power line construction.
Turkmenistan intends to bring the volume of electricity generated to 33 billion kilowatt hours by 2024.
