As of February 1, 2021, the total amount of deposits of citizens of Turkmenistan in credit institutions amounted to 28.697 billion manats, which is 11.3% more compared to same period of 2020. In February 2020, this figure stood at 25.789 billion manats, according to the data of Central Bank of Turkmenistan.
As of February 1, 2021, the total amount of deposits of Turkmen citizens in joint-stock commercial banks amounted to 6.041 billion manats, which is 273% more compared to same period of 2020. In February 2020, the total amount of these deposits was over 2.2 billion manats.
In addition, as of February 1, 2021, the total amount of deposits of citizens of Turkmenistan in state commercial banks amounted to 22.649 billion manats, and the total amount of their deposits in branches of foreign banks was 7 million manats.
On April 12 this year in Ashgabat, the opening ceremonies of new headquarters of the Türkmenbaşy State Commercial Bank and the Senagat Joint-Stock Commercial Bank were held with the participation of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
