The representatives of Turkmenistan and the Maddox group of companies held their first meeting via video link on Friday to discuss the implementation of project to open a Trading House of Turkmenistan in Baku and a Trading House of Azerbaijan in Ashgabat, the Baku-based Trend news agency reports.
The meeting was reportedly organized with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Azerbaijan. The Turkmen side was represented by officials of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, and members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET).
The meeting participants considered the possibilities of implementing the project for the creation of trading houses, discussed investment issues, the availability of expertise and demand for products in the markets of the two countries.
The sides also discussed the structure of trade turnover in order to identify areas for expanding the range of traded products, works and services.
In order to increase the export of Turkmen products, trading houses of the UIET were opened in dozens of countries, including Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Turkey, China.
