A meeting of the foreign ministers of the Central Asian (CA) states in Tashkent on Wednesday focused on preparations for the Consultative Meeting of the heads of CA countries.
The meeting was held at the initiative of the Turkmen side, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan said in its press release.
The meeting participants also discussed political, economic and humanitarian events, which will be organized within the framework of the Consultative Meeting.
The ministers exchanged views on the agenda of the upcoming summit, and discussed the meeting’s legal part, in particular, the documents planned for adoption.
The officials also discussed cooperation within the framework of multilateral structures, agreed to work on strengthening foreign policy partnership.
During the talks, the participants also touched upon topical issues of cooperation between the countries of the region in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields.
Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi, Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, and First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Nuran Niyazaliyev are presently in the Uzbek capital to participate in the International High-Level Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Challenges and Opportunities”.
